In Virginia-Highland: Cycle Chic

romper: GLAM
boots: Baker
bag: vintage Kenneth Cole
watch: father’s vintage Seiko
jewelry and sunglasses: vintage
bicycle: built up by Loose Nuts Cycles

A chance encounter over vintage bicycles resulted in
shoptalk about a mutual interest in fashion blogging.
Odd how gossip begets gossip. From bikes to looks,
what do idle bloggers have to say for themselves?
“My mom was into yard sales and took me along,”
she told me of her life long interest in thrifting and
bargain shopping. “I remember in fourth or fifth grade,
my friends had an event to bring together and trade
things we didn’t want, girly things and knick knacks.”
Now she shares her finds and tales of Atlanta living with
the followers of LadyFLASHBACK. It’s a fitting name for
someone who draws inspiration from the past while
illuminating the present as both photographer and model.

Viva Vintage

Chic Cycling in Chattanooga

The rains abated just long enough for us to hold
the show out of doors as planned. The crowd still
outnumbered the models, whose vintage looks
from Collective Clothing were enhanced by the
handiwork of Elea Blake and Salon Epiphany.
Everyone agreed: You looked marvelous!

The Return of the Walnut Street Bridge

Brilliant spring weather heralded the reopening of Chattanooga's much missed pedestrian bridge Friday and today's second crossing gave me this colorful subject. Be sure to save the date of May 16th for the bicycle fashion show Collective Commute.

Bike2Work

Outdoor Chattanooga hosted its monthly Bike2Work breakfast early this morning in Coolidge Park. Among those attending were a fellow ready for a Tweed Ride and his minimalist counterpart aboard a pared-down fixie. It was great fun meeting fans of this blog who also follow Vélo Vogue and Copenhagen Cycle Chic. Everyone agreed that a cycling fashion show would be just the way to celebrate reopening of the Walnut Street Pedestrian Bridge on May 8. Please return for updates as the plan takes shape.

The City Cyclist Revisited

Today's posting recalls another city cyclist from January. How nice it is to see people going about their daily lives unemcumbererd by automobiles.
