Thursday Finds

Some of these yarns were rescued from the free bins at a Delaware shop. Others were carded and spun from dog's hair in the Iowa Amana Colonies. Diagonal rib knitting places them throughout the finished hat, worn with pride by its crafty author, whose coordinating scarf was a gift from her father.

Need some bargain boots? Try the Zappo's Outlet in Louisville, Kentucky.

It's all in the finishing touches.

Ooh, I want those boots! Next time I drive up 75, I may just have to stop at that Zappos outlet. Thanks for the tip. And that hand-made cap from dog hair and recycled yarns? Awesome! When I was in elementary school, I had a neighbor who brushed her afghan hounds, carded the fur, spun her own yarn, and eventually after a few years had enough yarn to make a sweater. It was a bit odd, but pretty cool. I always wondered if she wore that sweater in the rain would she would get that "doggy" smell? :)

I'm told that is just what happens, he-he. 'Tis also not likely to be an issue for those of us who love their furry friends!
