Floral Notes

"It only looks stiched," she explained of this printed skirt. Well chosen shoes coordinate with the pink ribbon, which the morning's cool breeze artfully broke for her portrait. Like the black dress of yesterday, her blouse displays contrasting knitted textures and adds color gradations of its own. Look at it in the large size. There's a lot going on in this thrift shop find.

Introducing Chattanooga Pets

Dear ones,

Yesterday The Chattanoogan logged its 3000th view. From London to Sweden and Nashville to Knoxville, you are being noticed. Asheville's Mountain Xpress has elevated Chattanooga to its style pantheon and it is all of your own dressing. Take a bow!

Building on this success, I am pleased to offer you a new blog, Chattanooga Pets. Here I hope to present everything of interest to our city's animal lovers, from who walks whom to why we can't cross the Walnut Street Bridge, yet.

If you know of something that I do not (but ought to) please send it to chattanoogapets@gmail.com. Like the street fashions, this pets forum will be as good as we make it.

Cheers,

Cameron

Happy Mother's Day

from Knoxville

During a recent visit to Knoxville's Market Square District, The Chattanoogan became acquainted with a charming boutique called Vagabondia, so discovering one of its Papillon sundresses worn to The Chattanooga Market closed a circle of sorts.

at Tanner Hill Gallery

Mary Barnett's photodocumentary And The Iron Did Swim opened last night at the Tanner Hill Gallery, a stone's throw from the site of its subject, a U.S. Pipe and Foundary plant. More than a year in the making, images both journalistic and abstract tell the story of industrial decline. If you were not present, please find the time to visit this remarkable installation. Here are but a few highlights from the smartly dressed crowd.
